The UCLA Volunteer Center, a department of Government & Community Relations, is excited to participate in the launch of UCLA Spark, an online crowdfunding platform that allows multiple donors to contribute small amounts toward a specific project. The Center hopes to raise $15,000 by March 19 to fund ten One Bus, One Cause projects.
Established in 2012, One Bus, One Cause is a service initiative that helps foster lifelong volunteer habits by introducing participants to community partners in which they share an affinity. The Volunteer Center fills a bus with fifty students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members who participate in a day of service at a local school, park, shelter, senior center, veterans area, or other community organization.
Donations to the Spark campaign will help pay for the transportation, supplies, snacks and water, tools, and additional materials needed to safely complete a volunteer service project and introduce volunteers to an organization they can become involved with for ongoing engagement. Our commitment to making a difference through organizing community service projects continues to grow. We believe that if we bring together people from all backgrounds to work alongside each other in support of a common cause, the results can be astonishing. Help us continue to build stronger local communities — make a gift of support to the Volunteer Center’s Spark crowdfunding drive today.
