Marco Lundgren is a true product of Southern California. He was born and raised in Pasadena and La Cañada Flintridge. Marco received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University Northridge. After graduating college, Marco worked on Senator Anthony Portantino’s 2016 political campaign as well as the United Democratic Headquarters in Pasadena as the Volunteer Coordinator. After the 2016 election, Marco was hired in February of 2017 by State Senator Anthony Portantino as his Arcadia, Glendora, La Cañada Flintridge, La Verne, San Dimas, Temple City and Upland District Representative. While working for Senator Portantino, Marco was also a full-time graduate student at the University of Southern California. He completed his Master’s in Public Administration in August 2021.In January 2024, Marco left his position with Senator Portantino and accepted a position as an Assistant Director for State Government Relations at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). At UCLA, Marco works with the Law School, the Anderson School of Management, and the Herb Alpert School of Music. Bringing his extensive experience from the state legislature to UCLA, Marco works to advance the University’s goals at the state level by advocating on behalf of the University’s administration, faculty, and staff, ensuring that UCLA remains one of the topic public universities globally.
