MESSAGE FROM THE ASSISTANT VICE CHANCELLOR

November 2013

Hello Bruins Advocates!

Thank you to the advocates that joined us on October 17th for our Tenth Annual UCLA in Local Government Day. It was a very successful advocacy event with meetings with Mayor Eric Garcetti and members of the Los Angeles City Council and Board of Supervisors. At the evening reception , Former Councilmember Bill Rosendahl was honored as our Tom Bradley Leader of the Year Award, Al Aubin was honored as our Advocate of the Year, and the Riordan Programs of the Anderson School and the Bruin Guardian Scholars Summer Academy were honored as our Community Programs of the Year. The UCLA Day in Local Government sends a very positive message to the larger community about UCLA’s contributions to Los Angeles.

As always, we appreciate your support on behalf of UCLA. Government & Community Relations needs your participation in our Volunteer Center and Advocacy Programs. Please visit the Volunteer Center for upcoming volunteer opportunities. If you have not already, join Bruin Caucus. Have a great November and a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Go Bruins!
